Biography
Karin Buchholz has 21 years of experience as an Athlete of world rank, in Sports Management, Athletes' & Team Development as well as Fan Development.
1987 she started off her career as professional Tennis player, achieving world ranking in singles and doubles and winning numerous titles on this level. When she resigned from her active sports career she started to put her personal know-how to the profit of developping especially young athletes, until becoming the Director of Athlete Development for all Olympic Sports with the United Nations Olympic Committee in 1996. Because of her Community Olympic Development Program (CODP) the number of athletes on the U.S. National and Olympic Teams increased considerably.
Currently Karin is holding the position of Vice President of one of the leading U.S. Basketball teams, the NEW YORK KNICKS. In this role she has been able to maximize the public exposure and the revnue of the team, turning the Field Marketing Department from a cost center to a profit center generating over $1M in revenue in 2007.
Karin is partner with the Garden of Dreams Foundation to design programs and events that promote the Knicks and Madison Square Garden's new community relations platform – to help children in crisis and make their dreams come true. Serve as the primary spokesperson and emcee for all community events and initiatives.
